Fest 11 with the best people in the world!
This past week has been full of travels. From DC to Alabama to Atlanta to Gainesville, then all the way up I-95 as we braved the drive through Hurricane Sandy to get home. And I wouldn’t have spent the last ten days any other way, it was totally worth it.
Fest 11 was ridiculous, it was everything and nothing that I expected it to be. I’ve never consumed so much PBR and gin in my life (in addition to one little shot of tequila that led to be a very forgotten Friday night). Though Florida was a little chilly and I didn’t get to hangout in my swimsuit all weekend (as I had originally planned, a la Megan Hauserman), all of my time was filled with hangouts, meeting some awesome people, and of course, seeing a ton of music. Got to see: Mean Jeans, Restorations, Braid, Red City Radio, Signals Midwest, Timeshares, All Dinosaurs, Luther, Captain We’re Sinking, Bridge and Tunnel, Joyce Manor, A Wilhelm Scream, Menzingers, The Wild, Cheap Girls, La Dispute, The Smith Street Band. And they were all worth the 14-hour drive home through Sandy.
After a week and a half of being away from the office, I don’t know if I’ll be able to motivate myself to get on the bus at 8:20 am tomorrow morning. Can it be Fest 12 yet?
